Arthur Gurkhan was Patient 29 in a set of medical experiments. He became "Patient Zero" causing the start of the zombie plague.

History[]

Pre-apocalypse[]

Arthur Gurkhan was 46 years old, married, and worked as a lab technician. He had a varicose vein and flat feet but no known allergies or diseases.[1]

Arthur was an employee at Comansys.[2]

Arthur's last known place of work was the Simpson's Corner Shop.[3]

Arthur signed up for a clinical trial of VS-72, an experimental "wonder drug" that was meant to help patients heal faster by increasing cell regeneration. Moonchild was aware that Arthur had signed up for the trial and she was curious how it would react with the CeretinPlus she had been dosing the Comansys employees with.[4] Sigrid, on the other hand, had no idea there was a patient shared between the two experiments, which led to things happening much sooner than she had anticipated.[5]

Arthur was patient 29 out of 50. After Arthur received the first dose of VS-72 he developed a fever. The researchers examined him but didn't think it was serious, so they sent him back home. Arthur's fever spiked overnight. His wife took him to the hospital where he seemingly died - only to "wake up" and bite someone, thus starting the zombie plague.[6]
